How to Do the Star Pattern With a Geolite (Easy Beginner Trick)
Share
Level: Beginner. The star is the trick everyone asks about at Coby's stand on Pier 60 in Clearwater Beach, FL. Here's how to do it with your Geolite light-up spinning toy in three steps.
In Coby's words: "You bring it to a spin, and then you loop it in the same direction as the spin. As it winds in, loop, make the star pattern."
Step-by-step: the Geolite star pattern
- Bring it to a spin. Hold the string and get your Geolite spinning steadily so both lights are glowing in a circle.
- Loop it the same direction as the spin. Start making loops with your wrist in the same direction the Geolite is already spinning.
- Keep looping as it winds in. As the string winds in, keep the loops going. The lights trace points and the star pattern appears.
Tips
- Practice outside at dusk or in a dark room so you can see the light trails.
- Keep your loops smooth and steady instead of fast.
- Film it in slow motion on your phone to see the star clearly.
